website maintenance
Business website maintenance for updates, backups and support
Business website maintenance can include agreed WordPress updates, backups, small edits and technical support. The quote sets the covered tasks, support channels and service hours.
Business website maintenance: what the service covers
WordPress and plugin updates address changes to software and known issues. A maintenance plan can also define backup checks and a process for investigating faults.
An old plugin can clash with an update, a contact form can stop working, or an SSL certificate can expire. Regular checks help you spot these issues and agree the right response.
What monthly maintenance includes
Updates
Updates to WordPress, themes and plugins can be planned with a backup and checks of key pages and forms. Where suitable, changes can first be reviewed on a staging copy; compatibility depends on the site and its plugins.
Security
Security work can include reviewing access, removing unneeded accounts or plugins, and configuring available security tools. The measures included depend on the site and the agreed scope.
Backups
Backup frequency, storage location and restore testing are agreed for each site. See how to be sure a backup restore works for general backup checks.
Uptime and fault monitoring
Monitoring for site availability, forms, SSL or domain status can be included when supported by the setup. The monitoring tasks and response process are confirmed in the quote.
Speed checks
A periodic PageSpeed check so we notice any drop after an update or a new plugin. If bigger work is needed there is website speed optimisation.
Small edits
Changing text, an image or a phone number, adding a simple page, updating opening hours, or listing a product. "Small" means done in a short time. Anything beyond that, such as a complex new page or a new feature, we quote separately.
Technical support
Support channels, service hours and response arrangements are defined in the written quote.
A monthly report
A maintenance report can summarise the completed tasks and agreed checks.
The server your site runs on
When hosting is provided by PROIDEA Egypt, hosting and maintenance arrangements can be coordinated. Maintenance can also be scoped for a WordPress site hosted elsewhere. See website hosting.
What if your site is not with us
We maintain WordPress sites even if we did not build them. We start with a first check: versions, abandoned plugins, known holes and backup status. We give you a report on what needs fixing before maintenance begins. If the theme is very old we may recommend a redesign.
Stores
For WooCommerce stores, agreed checks may include the checkout after selected updates. Salla, Zid and Shopify include platform hosting; support tasks for their themes, apps or edits depend on the requested scope.
What the handover file contains for every site
Your information: hosting and domain accounts, admin accounts, a list of plugins and why each is there, the update and backup schedule, and how to restore. That way your site does not depend on one person.
How we start
- A call. Your site, its platform and what worries you.
- A written quote that sets the scope and timeline.
- A first check and a report.
- Set the base: a backup, protection and a first update.
- The monthly cycle and its report.
What we need from you
Access to the site, hosting and domain (a dedicated admin account, not your personal details), a list of who edits the site now, and any past faults or hacks.
Packages and the written quote
We review the requested tasks and send a written quote covering scope, schedule and deliverables. Hosting and maintenance on our server are quoted as a monthly service. Any support period included with a website package is stated in that package. See company website design.
Frequently asked questions
No security setup can prevent every attack. We can agree updates, backups and security tools as part of the maintenance scope.
The frequency depends on how often your site changes, and goes in the quote. A store that takes orders needs more backups than a brochure site.
Alerting and response hours depend on the agreed support plan. The quote should state the available channels and response arrangements.
Yes, if it runs on WordPress, after a first check. Some closed or very old themes cannot be edited safely, and we tell you.
The cancellation and handover process should be stated in the agreement, including how site files, available backups and account access are provided.
Leave your site's upkeep to us and focus on your business
Send your site address and platform, and we reply with a written quote that sets the scope and timeline.
