custom software development
Custom business software development around your operating process
Custom business software development suits processes that need dedicated screens, approval steps, reports or system connections. We map the workflow first and agree the build scope before development.
Custom business software development: what the service covers
Systems such as Odoo can cover sales, stock, accounting and HR. We compare their functions with your requirements before recommending a custom build. But some businesses have a flow unlike any other: a factory with nine stages and QR-coded documents, a platform that matches companies with investors, a service firm with pricing rules no setting can hold. There, custom software gives what a packaged system cannot.
We advise you before you commit. If Odoo covers most of your work, customising it is cheaper and faster than building a new system. If what sets you apart sits outside it, we build. Our article Odoo or custom software compares them with examples.
What we usually build
Order and stage tracking
An order passes through departments: sales, design, production, quality, delivery. Each stage has an owner, a date, a status and a notification. This is what we built for GTP.
Approval chains and permissions
Who requests, who approves, which amount needs two signatures, what each user sees. Every approval is recorded with the name and time.
A portal for customers or suppliers
A customer logs in to see orders and invoices, upload documents and follow an order's status, instead of phoning your staff.
Report dashboards
Figures from scattered sources on one screen with the indicators that matter to you: today's sales, late orders, this week's collections.
Matching platforms
A platform that links two sides, such as the QEM Holding platform that shows Qatar opportunities to Egyptian companies, in two languages, with company accounts and profiles.
Protected forms and portals
Forms protected against spam and duplicate submissions, connected straight to email or CRM, as on the Al Ola site.
Links to what you already run
Your custom system does not live alone. It connects to your store, accounting, WhatsApp and payment gateways. See system integrations.
How we work: a first version you try before we build the rest
- A call and a sheet of steps. You draw the work as it happens: who starts, what follows, who approves, where it stalls.
- A written quote that sets the scope and timeline, and can start with a small first release.
- Screen design. You see every screen on desktop and mobile and approve before coding.
- First version build on a staging link where you and your team try it with real data.
- Notes and changes. We list what changes now and what goes into the next phase.
- Launch on your hosting or ours, with a handover file and training videos.
- Expansion. We add departments and features in stages.
This reduces the biggest risk of custom work: waiting months only to find the system does not look like what you need.
You keep the decisions and the data
Your data stays yours, and we build the system so that you can export it. The quote spells out code ownership, usage terms and hosting, so there are no surprises after handover. If you want to host the system on PROIDEA Egypt’s server, we arrange maintenance and backups with you. See hosting.
A real project: the GTP factory system
For GTP Ghuniem Textile Printing, a sublimation printing factory, we built on Perfex CRM a system with a production module that follows each order across nine stages: quote, design, sample, material, warehouse, printing, quality, collection, delivery. We added approvals and permissions, entry and exit documents with scannable QR codes, a Flutter mobile app and an AI assistant called Haidi. Read the story: GTP factory system.
The companion app
Many custom systems need an app for field staff or customers. We build it in Flutter for Android and iOS. See mobile app development. And if we find that Odoo with a custom module is enough for you, we say so: see Odoo modules.
What we ask on the first call
Which step breaks today? How many users will work on the system, and who are they? What tools do you use now? Must it connect to another system? And if we began with a small version, what is the first thing you want working? We write the scope from your answers.
Packages and the written quote
We review what you need, then send a written quote that sets the scope, timeline and deliverables. The written quote fixes the scope and the timeline, and we start after you approve it.
Frequently asked questions
Buy it if it covers most of your work, since it is usually faster and cheaper. We build custom software when what distinguishes your business sits outside the packaged options, or when you need full control of the look, permissions and links.
It depends on size. We split the project into phases and state the first version's timeline in the quote. A timeline cannot be set before we understand the steps and screens.
Yes. The system is built to grow by departments and features. You add requests and we order them into phases.
Code ownership and usage terms are written into the quote before work starts. Ask about them on the first call.
Yes, subject to the APIs the platform offers. Tell us what you use and we review it.
Tell us your steps and we will suggest the right system
Send a short description of what you want, and we reply with a written quote that sets the scope and timeline.
