Odoo implementation and customisation
Odoo implementation for businesses with workflow customisation
Odoo implementation for businesses begins with the apps and workflows your team needs. Odoo customization in Egypt can be scoped for changes beyond standard setup; the project may include configuration, data migration and training as stated in the quote.
Odoo implementation for businesses: configuration and customisation
Sales sit in one spreadsheet, stock in another, invoices in an accounting package and staff leave on paper. Each department sees one slice. At month end somebody stitches the numbers together by hand and argues about the stock balance.
Odoo puts these departments on one database. A quotation the salesperson confirms opens a delivery order in the warehouse and then an invoice for accounts. Nobody types the same figure twice.
The apps we set up, and how they connect
Odoo is a set of apps that share the same data. You do not need all of them on day one. We install the ones your process uses.
- Contacts and Sales: one record per customer, quotation templates in your branding, and sales orders that flow on to the warehouse and invoicing.
- CRM: pipeline stages from first call to closed deal, with a won opportunity turning into a quotation in one click. More on the CRM implementation page.
- Inventory and Purchase: warehouses and locations, receipts and deliveries, and reordering rules that raise a purchase request when an item drops below the level you set.
- Accounting and Invoicing: customer and vendor invoices, payments, bank reconciliation, taxes set to your registration, and journal entries created from sales and stock movements.
- Employees, Attendances, Time Off, Payroll and Recruitment: a file per employee, leave requests approved by the line manager, check-in and check-out, and payslips. See the HR apps page.
- Manufacturing: a bill of materials per product, and manufacturing orders that draw raw materials from stock and add the finished goods.
- Point of Sale: a branch till that records the sale, reduces stock and posts the entry at the same moment.
- Project, Timesheets and Helpdesk: tasks, teams and support tickets, with logged hours feeding the invoice if you sell time.
- Website and eCommerce: a site or store that reads products, stock levels and orders from the same system.
A typical rollout order
Switching on every app at once overwhelms a team. We prefer short phases, each one running and reviewed before the next begins:
- Foundation: company, branches, users, permissions, and the customer, vendor and product lists.
- Selling: CRM, Sales and quotation templates.
- Stock and buying: warehouses, opening balances and reordering rules.
- Accounting: chart of accounts, invoices, payments and bank reconciliation.
- People: employees, leave and attendance, then payroll.
- What is specific to you: manufacturing, a till, projects or support.
The final order depends on where the work hurts today. A company losing quotations starts with Sales. A company that cannot trust its stock figures starts with Inventory.
Moving your old data across
Old data is what delays most projects, so we open that file early. We take your spreadsheets or an export from your current software, check for duplicate customers, items with no code and mismatched columns, then build import templates for Odoo.
We load a sample first and someone who knows the data in your company checks it. After sign-off we load the rest. Opening stock and account balances are reviewed with their owners before the live start.
Customising Odoo without breaking it
A lot of what companies ask for is configuration: extra fields, approval steps, print templates, reports and automated actions. We start there because configuration survives version upgrades.
If you need something Odoo does not do, we build it as a separate module instead of editing core code. That keeps upgrades manageable. The details are on the custom Odoo apps and modules page. If your business needs software written from scratch, see custom software.
Training your team and setting permissions
A system nobody uses drifts back to spreadsheets within a month. So we train each role on its own tasks: the salesperson on quotations, the storekeeper on receipts and deliveries, the accountant on invoices and entries.
Permissions are set from the start: who sees purchase prices, who approves a discount, who closes an accounting period. After training you receive a handover file describing how your company’s Odoo is set up.
After go-live
The first weeks bring the real questions: a missing field, a report that reads differently, a user stuck on one step. We stay with you through that stage to correct and tune. Longer-term support can be part of the written quote.
Hosting and database backups have their own page: hosting and support.
Who this suits
- A trading or distribution company that wants warehouse balances to match the books.
- A factory that needs manufacturing orders tied to raw materials and cost.
- A service company tracking customers, projects and team hours.
- A business moving off spreadsheets or an old package that wants its data carried over.
The written quote
After the call we send a written quote that sets the scope and timeline. It lists the apps, customisations, data migration, training and timeline. That quote is the reference that fixes scope and schedule.
Frequently asked questions
It depends on the number of apps, the amount of old data and the number of users. Sales and stock take a different time from accounting, payroll and manufacturing. We give a timeline per phase in the written quote after the 20-minute call.
Yes, and it is the approach we prefer. You begin with the app that fixes your biggest problem. Because everything lives in one database, you add stock, accounting or HR later without re-entering anything.
Yes. We migrate customers, vendors, products and opening balances from spreadsheets or an export of your current software. We clean the data first, load a sample for you to approve, then load the rest.
Yes. We start with Odoo's own configuration. If a feature is missing, we build it as a separate module, so core code stays untouched and upgrades are not blocked.
Yes. We train each role on its own tasks and hand over a file describing your set-up. After launch we handle the changes that appear, and the written quote states the support period.
