website speed optimisation

WordPress speed optimization for pages customers use on mobile

WordPress speed optimization begins by measuring agreed pages and reviewing the site setup. We document suitable changes and recheck performance without promising a particular score.

WordPress speed optimization: what the service covers

You pay for an ad, the customer taps it, and a blank page shows for three seconds. They close it and go back to search results to open your competitor. That is what happens when a phone has to carry multi-megabyte images and ten plugins running on every page. In a store, a slow cart and a laggy checkout mean customers abandon orders.

Google also measures page experience and counts it among ranking signals, so a slow site loses on both fronts.

How we measure before we fix

We do not guess. We open your site with measurement tools:

  • PageSpeed Insights. Mobile and desktop scores and the Core Web Vitals: largest contentful paint (LCP), responsiveness to taps (INP) and layout stability (CLS).
  • Google Search Console. The page experience report from your real visitors, which a lab test cannot give.
  • GTmetrix or WebPageTest. Request analysis and the loading order of each file.
  • Microsoft Clarity. Real recordings of visitors who leave, to see where they wait.

We measure the pages that matter: the home page, your most important service page, a product page and the landing page your ads point to. We save the results before work so we can compare after.

What we usually fix

Images

Large images are the first cause of slowness. We convert them to WebP, set sizes per device, delay loading of what sits below the fold, and fix dimensions so the page does not jump while loading.

Plugins and scripts

We review each plugin: which are unneeded, and which load their files on every page for nothing. We remove duplicates, swap heavy ones for lighter ones and defer JavaScript that the first view does not need.

Caching

We set up page caching so each visit is not built from scratch, file compression and browser caching for static files. A content delivery network (CDN) helps when your visitors are in several countries.

Fonts

Arabic and English fonts in many weights cost the page a lot. We cut weights, host the font on your own site and control how text shows before the font arrives.

Database and server

Years of accumulated data, revisions and drafts nobody needs, and a crowded shared server. We clean the database, test server response time and recommend a hosting upgrade if that is the cause. Hosting on PROIDEA Egypt's own server is available: see hosting.

Tracking scripts

Ad, analytics and chat scripts affect speed. We do not remove what you need, but we organise how they load and suggest deleting what does nothing.

Your store has its own problems

In WooCommerce, cart and checkout pages cannot be cached like others, so we treat them differently and review heavy queries and advertising plugins. On Salla, Zid and Shopify we do not own the platform’s server, but we fix what is in our hands: image size, the number of installed apps, theme code and third-party scripts. See also improving store pages to ease buying.

The limits of what can be improved

We tell you plainly what cannot be improved. A theme that is heavy at its core may only get lighter if you change it, which is where a redesign helps. A platform that blocks code edits has a ceiling. On our own new sites we set a mobile PageSpeed target of 85 or more, while for an existing site we tell you what is possible after measuring. A score moves with the page and with network conditions, so it is an indicator, not a promise.

Project steps

  1. A call. What feels slow, which pages matter, and whether you advertise to them.
  2. A written quote that sets the scope and timeline.
  3. A first measurement and a report on what slows each page.
  4. Fixes on a test copy of the site first, not on the live one.
  5. Function testing. Forms, cart, payment and WhatsApp.
  6. Publish and measure again, with a comparison report.

What you receive

A before-and-after report for each measured page, a list of what we changed, recommendations that need your decision such as a hosting upgrade or a theme change, and a handover note on what must not change so the slowness does not come back.

Packages and the written quote

We review what you need, then send a written quote that sets the scope, timeline and deliverables. The written quote fixes the scope and the timeline, and we start after you approve it. If you want ongoing care, there is website maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

We do not promise a specific score. It depends on the theme, plugins, ad scripts and network conditions. We measure before and after and show you the difference and what remains possible.

Normally not. We work on a test copy and compare pages before publishing.

Your device may have cached the site's files and your network may be faster. An average phone on a weak network shows the problem. So we measure with mobile simulation and rely on your real visitors' data in Search Console.

Sometimes, if the server is the cause. Usually several causes add up. We measure first, then recommend.

Speed is one page-experience signal and it helps more visitors stay and buy. We cannot promise a particular ranking.
